WHAT NEXT?
Thank God we had it peaceful, Nigerians have shown that we are capable once again to set the pace for African countries. Thanks to President Jonathan who took the path of honour and Prof. Jega, who also kept a clean image and improve our electioneering process with the use of PVC and card reader. In all of this I believe the people are the real beneficiaries and winners. What all these processes had succeeded in doing is to heap real responsibilities on the winners of these elections, from the President-elect to the house of assembly winners. Nigerians have high hopes in those they have chosen to lead in the next four years, because they have simply tell those who lost elections that; "look, we don't trust you let Mr. A, do the job" so to Mr. A, it's a trust impose on him which he must fulfil. I was opportune to hear from a reliable source a comment between Buhari and his deputy, Osinbajo, during one of their campaign rallies. The general asked his deputy sitting beside him in a car while thousands of ordinary Nigerians waves. He said to him "Osinbajo, what do you see in those people?" and the deputy replied "our supporters" then the general said "no", and told his deputy, "those people are expecting so much from us and we must not fail them, because we are their last hope". If so, then the people had simply shifted their burden to the new leaders and the earlier others elected persons realize this, the better and prosperous we all will be. Our past leaders have made governance look like mathematics that can be difficult to solve, but evidences from other climes has shown that it is not. All it takes for a good governance is COMMITTED LEADERSHIP. Lee kuan yew of Singapore, Deng xioping of China, Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum of Dubai, and Najib Rasak of Malaysia have all shown to us that sheer determination can move a country to its manifest destiny. I choose to use the above countries because they all started with Nigeria in the sixties as developing nations. (At least I know this as a historian) Today they all rank among the best countries of this world. When I see the level of supports and sacrifices of many Nigerians for Buhari in his bid to rule this country, something tells me he has no choice but to perform and live up to expectations especially in the area of corruption which was his selling point. As we all notice yesterday that the turn out of voters was very low compared to the forth night Presidential election, where everyone troop out to cast a vote. This again shows that the people looks forward to the man at the center. In all and all Nigerians are the real winners of this unfolding NEW NATION.
I remain yours faithfully:
Ajumobi Success Adewale.

BAD BREATH - HALITOSIS
HOW TO CURE AND STOP BAD BREATH
What is Bad Breath?
Bad breath, which is also called halitosis, is an
embarrassing health condition that affects approximately
30% of people around the world. It is associated with a foul
oral odor. According to the Academy of General Dentistry,
in over 90% of bad breath cases, the odor originates in the
mouth, throat, and tonsils.
The bad breath odor is usually caused by a group of
anaerobic, sulfur-producing bacteria that breed beneath the
surface of the tongue and often in the throat and tonsil
area. These bacteria occur naturally in your oral
environment and are supposed to be there because they
assist your digestion by breaking down proteins into amino
acids. Proteins are commonly found in food, mucus or
phlegm, blood and in diseased oral tissue.
As the bad breath bacteria feast on proteins in your mouth,
sulfur compounds are released from the back of your
tongue and throat. The bacteria excrete waste as hydrogen
sulfide, methyl mercaptan and other odorous and bad
tasting compounds known as volatile sulfur compounds. As
long as this process of anaerobic bacteria feeding on
proteins and excreting volatile sulfur compounds continues
unchecked, your breath will become worse and worse.
4 Common Bad Breath Causes
There are many causes of bad breath but there are 4
causes of bad breath that are very common.
1. Dry mouth - a dry mouth provides a perfect environment
for anaerobic bacteria reproduction. Longperiods of
speaking, smoking, drinking alcohol and snoring are a
few common reasons why people experience dry mouth.
Most people experience bad breath in the morning due
to lack of saliva production while they sleep. For healthy
individuals, food odors are temporary and normal
salivary flow will eliminate it within several minutes.
However, those who suffer from dry mouth and lack of
saliva find that even minor food odors may end up
becoming long term bad breath problems.
2. Foods - Bad breath can be made worse by certain foods
such as onions and garlic because they contain smelly
sulfur compounds. Dairy, meat and fish contain dense
proteins which are used as a food source by the
anaerobic, sulfur-producing bacteria that cause bad
breath. Refined and processed sugars also provide a
food source for bacteria. Coffee and juices can
contribute to bad breath because they are acidic and
provide the bacteria with an ideal breeding environment.
3. Poor dental hygiene - Inadequate oral care leads to
bacterial buildup on the teeth and gums. This leads to
gum diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis, which can
cause halitosis because the proteins from bleeding
gums and diseased oral tissue provide fuel to odor-
causing bacteria.
4. Illness and disease - According to studies, in
approximately 10% of all cases, bad breath is caused by
certain illnesses. Individuals who suffer from diabetes,
lung disease, kidney disease, cancer, liver disease,
respiratory tract infections or metabolic disorders often
experience chronic bad breath due to dry mouth.
Sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, post nasal drip and
polyps affect the airways and may cause halitosis.
Other common illnesses than can cause bad breath
include nasal odor, putrefaction from the tonsils, tooth
decay, yeast infections of the mouth and gum disease.
Certain drugs such as antidepressants, high blood
pressure medications and antihistamines can cause bad
breath because they reduce saliva production.
Bad Breath Treatment
In most cases bad breath can
be successfully treated. Bad
breath treatment depends on
its cause.
Please keep in mind that you
cannot eliminate the bacteria
that cause bad breath from
the tongue. Consequently,
scraping or brushing the
tongue is a temporary solution
at best, and is typically
frustrating for those who believe tongue scraping or tongue
brushing is a permanent solution to bad breath. The
bacteria that cause bad breath are actually part of your
normal oral flora and need to be present in order to break
down proteins as a key step in proper digestion.
A much simpler and clinically-proven method to treat bad
breath is to interrupt the bacteria’s chemical production of
odors by the introduction of oxygenating compounds to
your oral environment. Oxygen is lethal to the bacteria that
cause bad breath because they are anaerobes and cannot
survive or function in the presence of oxygen.
In general, a dentist will recommend mouthwashes and
toothpastes that contain oxidizing agents such as chlorine
dioxide or sodium chlorite to neutralize volatile sulfur
compounds and help control odor causing bacteria found in
the mouth.
If you are experiencing dryness in the mouth, your dentist
will recommend a saliva substitute to moisten the mouth
throughout the day.
Some effective, natural ingredients to look for in oral care
products are zinc gluconate, aloe vera, green tea, tea tree
oil, xylitol, CoQ10, glycyrrhizic acid and oral probiotics like
K12 and M18.
6 Bad Breath Home Remedies
The practice of a few, simple, self-care techniques can help
to minimize bad breath. There are several things you can
at home to treat bad breath.
1. Advance oral care products - Use oral care products
such as mouthwashes and toothpastes that have been
shown to be effective in fighting bad breath.
2. Proper oral care - Brush and floss your teeth at least
twice a day. This helps to remove any food and plaque
which can be used as a fuel source by the anaerobic,
sulfur-producing bacteria that cause bad breath.
3. Stimulate your salivary flow - Prevent dry mouth with
chewing gum, lozenges, or mints that are sugar free.
Look for Xylitol as a sweetener. In recent years, Xylitol
has been shown to have anti-cavity properties and is a
non-sucrose sweetener.
4. Eat fibrous fruits and vegetables- One of the best ways
to remove bacteria in the mouth is to eat an apple a
day. It helps moisten the mouth, too.
5. Take a dietary supplement - Take Vitamin C, Vitamin D,
Vitamin E, and Vitamin B. These vitamins are effective
at helping your body eliminate excess mucus and toxins
naturally.
6. Brush your teeth occasionally with baking soda –
Thebacteria that cause bad breath thrive in an acidic
oral environment. Brushing your teeth with baking soda
helps neutralize excess acids found in the oral cavity.
12 Easy Ways to Prevent Bad Breath
Please remember, preventing bad breath is always easier
than treating it. By developing the right habits, you can be
effective at preventing bad breath.
1. Eat foods rich in fiber - High fiber foods actually help
prevent halitosis. Avoid eating heavily processed foods
that contain refined carbohydrates such as cookies,
cakes, sweets and ice cream.
2. Use mouthwash - Some mouthwashes or oral rinses are
effective at preventing bad breath. However, you should
never use alcohol based mouthwashes because the
alcohol makes the mouth very dry, which will actually
cause bad breath.
3. Drink green and black teas - They contain polyphenols
that help eliminate sulfur compounds and reduce oral
bacteria.
4. Avoid drying medication - Avoid taking antidepressants,
diuretics, pain relievers and antihistamines unless it is
absolutely, medically necessary. These drugs inhibit
saliva flow and cause halitosis.
5. Avoid products with sodium lauryl sulfate or alcohol -
Do not use any oral hygiene products that contain
sodium lauryl sulfate or alcohol because the alcohol
makes the mouth very dry, which is a leading cause of
bad breath.
6. Clean your mouth after eating meat, fish or dairy
products - Practice consistent and thorough oral hygiene
to prevent bad breath.
7. Stop smoking - Studies have shown that smokers
present a higher risk of developing periodontal disease
and bad breath because smoking causes dry mouth
which can cause bad breath.
8. Breathe through your nose instead of your mouth - Try
to address any snoring or sleep apnea issues that could
be affecting your breath and causing dry mouth.
9. Drink water - Keep your mouth moist by drinking plenty
of water.
10. Clean your dentures at least once a day - Practice the
same, proper oral care that you would with your original
teeth.
11. Eliminate dairy products from your diet - Bad breath
can easily be caused by lactose intolerance.
12. Use an oral probiotic like S. salivarius K12 and M18 -
Use probiotics to balance the oral cavity and prevent an
overgrowth of the odor causing bacteria that can cause
bad breath.

WHY GEJ FAILED
Major Reasons Why Jonathan Failed;
The fantasy of office
President Jonathan was carried away by
the fantasy of office, and assumed some
goose didn’t like him. He kept saying that
there were fifth columnists in his
government. The luxury of office like
‘Alice in wonders land’ did not allow him
to take prompt action. He forgot the limit
of time in office.
Procrastination
There were several national issues that
required swift and precise actions but he
remained indecisive, not willing to offend
any interests. Though a gazette on
downsizing of parastatals was issued f
they are still intact and getting revenues.
The Security Question
He was confused from the beginning and
left the Boko Haram question hanging till
the period of election, making the society
to think that he was playing politics with
security. There will always be fifth
columnist in any government. It is left for
the government to be bold enough to pull
the bull by the horn.
. Corruption
Corruption is a menace everywhere. The
challenge is how he addressed it .He
was weak in driving firm actions on
corruption. He tolerated and
accommodated corrupt officers unlike
Obasanjo did to Bode George and Afolabi
Sunday. EFCC has done a lot of
prosecution but for the courts legal
barriers. Even though the Chief Justice
told him that corruption is a mere
thievery he is not just the head of the
Executive but the President of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria, and he
should interrogate the context. Lamorde
in the EFCC tried to re-invent the Ribadu
legacy but the presidential support was
too moralistic and weak.
Mismanagement of PDP political crisis
The crisis in the ruling party was a great
disservice to Jonathan. Bamanga
wanted to control the governors. In the
presidential system after elections the
parties slide to the back stage.
Unfortunately, President Jonathan paid
too much due respect to Alhaji Bamanga
eldership and watched helplessly as the
party went down the drain.
Did he read The Prince?
May be he never read the prince. Even
democrats aspiring to lead read The
Prince .Politics is about power. Power is
who gets what when and how, and in the
process it is the authoritative allocation
of resources. ‘The Prince’ sets out
characteristics for a political leader to
do, whether a dictator or democrat.
Imbalance in appointments
Immediately President Jonathan got his
election in 2011 he forgot the balancing
political zones. The South west was
abandoned and forgotten. So also the
middle Belt (the North Central).He
concentrated his attention on Northwest
which rarely gave him 25%. From the
2015 election the result was worst off
from the Northwest compared to 2011.
PDP a went to sleep after 2011
Immediately PDP won the 2011 election
it went to sleep. The historical nostalgia
that opposition politics has never been
strong in Nigeria was their making. It was
the greatest mistake to make in modern
politics.
Failure of personal research
He failed to take advice outside the box
and did not carry out personal research.
Some intellectuals tried to offer free
advice but were shun by those in the
corridor of power, as academic hawkers.

CORRUPTION
Corruption, Which way Nigeria ?
Which way Nigeria , which way to go. I love my
father land, I want to know Which way Nigeria
is heading to … . Many years after our
independence we still find it had to start , How
long shall we be patience before we reach the
promise land? Let save Nigeria so that Nigeria
won ’ t fall……
This is an extract from one of the songs of
Late Sunny Okosun . This song was released in
the 80s . Some days ago , I was thinking about
what Sunny Okosun would have sung now ,
assuming he is still alive . Where is Nigeria
heading to ? Who will deliver this country from
the jaws of corruption? When will this monster
called corruption be destroyed ? What is the
way out for Nigeria ?
These are some of the many painful questions
that are crying for answers . The rate at which
this deadly virus called corruption is eating
deep into the society , is very worrisome ; from
the various levels of government , executive, the
legislative and judiciary to the corporate world
and security agencies , the story is the same.
One cannot but wonder how or when things
degenerated to this level.
There is now no big deal , when you hear that
someone is arrested or arraigned in respect of
a case of corruption. Former ministers , former
governors, former speakers of house of
representative, commissioners to local
government chairmen etc are all involved in the
mess called corruption. The story is the same
everywhere. The challenge now is that, all
these people whenever they are caught have no
shame whatsoever . You will see them beaming
with smiles as if they had won the National
honours.
I really wonder what messages we are sending
to the younger ones . Can it now be that , these
are the ones the youth see as role models and
this encourages them to dabble into internet
fraud and examination malpractices ? What we
do now , will go a long way to determine what
will become the future of this Nigeria .
We all
must fight
corruption
to a
standstill ;
enough of
paying
lip - service
to fighting
corruption. The only thriving business now
seems to be in politics; it is no wonder that
people are ready to do anything attain political
power. Service and the love of the nation have
been relegated to the background; and we are
all feasting on the nation like rats will feast on
cheese .

WHAO!

It isn’t as shocking as the Janet Jackson nip slip really, and Ms.
Minaj kind of made it funny by making one of her trademark crazy
plastic barbie surprise faces when it happened, during the song “Where
Dem Girls At.”The video can be viewed on World Star Uncut.
Nicki has already suffered wardrobe malfunctions in the past, like during one of her Femme Fatale opener shows on June 23rd when her dress “broke.”
Maybe it was tired of being part of a cliche ploy to be one of the most eccentric, brightly-colored things in the world. Or maybe her booty is just the size of Saturn and the atmosphere imploded…
WEEK STARTER
We at Nigerian Personality are wishing you a Wonderful and Prosperous week ahead. We pray that all your heart desires will come to pass. The good God Almaghty will visit You and Your House Holds for Greater Testimonies. Say amen and share this if you believe.
BACK TO THE BASICS
Fans of Liz Benson Ameye (formerly known as Liz Benson) would be very excited to hear that the Nollywood legend has announced her return to film acting according to reports. A few years ago, Liz Benson Ameye took everyone by surprise when she declared that she was quitting acting. By that time, she had become a Christian evangelist. Liz starred in over 40 Nollywood flicks including Most Wanted, Inheritance, and Diamond Ring. She came into the limelight via the 1993 television soap opera, Fortunes, and the popular home video film, Glamour Girls. Presently married to Bishop Great Ameye of the Freedom Assembly in Jesse, Ethiope Local Government Area of Delta State, Liz will be appearing in a new Stephanie Okereke movie which focuses on the plight of women afflicted with vesico vaginal fistula in Nigeria. She revealed that her decision to take the role was largely influenced by fellow actress Stephanie Okereke. “Stephanie did a lot to convince me that I would love to be a part of the project after going through the script. I had already decided not to be involved in any film that did not reflect my religious beliefs. “But after reading the script, I was touched by the message in it. Then I decided to play the part of a nurse in the film” The film is due for release on the stable of Next Page Production soon.

STOP AND SEARCH; It's Omosexy Again
Has Nollywood diva, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde, had a bum lift? That’s
the question on the lips of her admirers following the release of her
photos spotting a blue denim skirt and a dark top recently. The bum
lift stories started flying around after the mother of five popped up
at an event on Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, looking so sexy and ‘edible’
that a fan got so excited and remarked that even a Buddhist monk would
have renounced his vows just to have a roll in the hay with her.
The source insisted: “The Omotola we used to know was shapely not as bootylicious as this. But the dimension of her bum today is just awesome! Look at how flat her tummy is.
