Davido says there’s no truth to the controversial news about a fight between him and fellow pop artiste Wizkid.
In a video interview with AMC Nigeria, the 19-year-old pop singer cleared the air about his relationship with 22-year-old Wizzy.
‘Wizkid is my friend, Wizkid is my n***a, Wizkid is my brother. There’s nothing wrong at all. We are young n****as making money, that’s all.‘
A few weeks ago, NET reported that there was tension between both camps, citing instances and scenarios that led to the falling out, most notably when Davido and his HKN crew walked out of the NEAs 2012 while Wizkid was performing.
There has been no response from Wizkid or his label EME yet.

Wunmi Adebayo's Murder; A New Twist

The result was a public investigation comprising of the Chief Judge,Investigating Police Officer(IPO), Landlords of golden estate(where the robbery happened), eye-witnesses and many onlookers, present at the crime scene. Following this public inquiry, the case has finally being laid to rest and the BOYFRIEND adjudged INNOCENT. Read everything about the robbery, how the stories started, and what really happened on the faithful night Wunmi Adebayo(may God rest her soul) was murdered.

What really happened....

On monday 10th of September 2012, in the early hours of the morning, armed robbers visited Golden Estate, in Ijebu Ode. The armed robbers raided 3 houses before getting to the house were Wunmi was and probably still planned to go further. Present in the flat was Wunmi, her boyfriend, her boyfriend's elder brother, his wife and their 4 year old child. The thieves on reaching the flat commenced with the robbery. From what was revealed during the open investigation and questioning yesterday,The robbers DID NOT RAPE Wunmi, rather, they were interested more in her jewelry.

A next door neighbor, an Alfa(muslim cleric) , whose house the robbers would have gone to next, said the next thing he heard was "Ole! ole!!!(which Wunmi shouted)", and then the sound of gunshots, followed by the groaning of someone in pain. He further stated that he assumed that it was his neighbours wife who had being shot, until after the robbers hurridly left( knowing that the gunshot would have been heard and alerted people around) that he found that it was Wunmi who had being shot in the mouth. The following day, the poilice came around and investigations started, and at that point it was said was assumed that she was killed by robbers.

How The Rumors Started ...The vigilante in Golden estate after the faithful incident *claimed that they were un aware of any robbery incident that took place. This made people then question the cause of her death if not robbers, resulting in the rumors that started flying around and different theories about how she was killed surfaced, including the voice message, and BBM broadcasts that were circulated.

The stories got to the family of Wunmi who had initially rested the case, but insisted on a proper investigation on hearing that it was being said that there was no robbery recorded. As a result, the Elewe eran police station middle of last week invited Wunmi's boyfriend and a some of his friends for questioning, and they were held, pending the conclusion of investigation. The vigilante's were also arrested and kept in custody. On Sunday morning 16th of September, it was said that the viglante's confessed to having knowledge of the robbery that took place in the estate that fateful night. When asked why they initially lied, they said they feared for their lives and jobs,because despite being armed with guns as well, they didn't challenge the robbers, as they weren't sure if the robbers out numbered them.

Since the robbery incident last sunday, it is reported that Golden estate, has now became the favorite of robbers as it is alledged that about three robbery incidents has again been recorded in the past week, and that while some have temporarily moved out, others live in perpetual fear for their lives.

On sunday 16th September, 2012, in other to clear all rumours, and finally lay the matter to rest, the police took Wunmi's boyfriend and his other friends who were arrested to the crime of the scene in Golden Estate. The landlords in the estate, the chief judge, IPO, robbery victims in the estate, witnesses and other unlookers interested in the case were present at this public investigation. It was, before everyone present that questions were being asked, and witnesses gave their various accounts of how they were robbed and what happened the night Wunmi was killed.

The family has now dropped the case, and stated categorically that at no point was Wunmi's spirit invoked. It has also being said that Wunmi's boyfriend and friends who were invited for questioning and held at the Olowo eran police station will be officially released tomorrow as they are said to be innocent and all that was said about them were rumours, fueled by the vigilante's claim at the inital stage that there was no robbery.

The Truth

A source said he was present at the scene of the crime on Sunday where the public investigation and questioning took place. He took it upon himself to inform me about the true nature of things because he had heard all the rumors about Wunmi's boyfriend and being human even joined in spreading the tales, initially. As a result, he decided that the least he could do was help spread the true position of things so people would be aware of what really happened, he added.

It was said at the public inquiry that Wunmi was not raped or killed by her boyfriend, neither is he a robber. She was just a victim of circumstance, sent to an untimely death by the men of the underworld.

LAGOS STATE STUDENT UNION (LASUSU) ‘REAL DEAL AWARD’ 2012

The LASUSU Award have come and gone, the day was meant to be memorable, glamorous and colourful. Guest and Awardees are expected to be good looking colourfully dressed. This was not the case with the LASUSU awards which took place on the 16th of September, 2012.
The event which was held in the main hall of Golden Tulip, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, was well attended by students of the institution, government officials, dignitaries and fun lovers. It all went well except for dress sense of some of the guests and awardees which was far below expectation as some students appeared too casual and unserious for the occasion. worn-out jeans and T-shirts dotted most of the tables in the hall and even the girls wore old looking jeans as if they were attending lecture. The wall behind the stage where presentations of awards were made was completely blank and uncolorful. Not a single decoration was found on the wall.
Members of Nigerian Personality who were at the event can exclusively say it was more of a Church program. The award plaques were lovely and fantastic but the event was not glamorous and ‘uneventful’

BOKO HARAM AGAIN

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members yesterday in Kano wiped out the entire family of an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), sending panic across the metropolis.
Eyewitness said that the insurgents killed the man whose name was not known as at press time, his wife, four-year-old child as well as his physically-challenged younger brother.
The tragedy occurred at about 12: 40pm at Hotoro Quarters in the state capital.
It was the exact place where an applicant was killed in his father’s car in front of the residence of a member of the House of Representatives, some days ago.
The four gunmen came on two motorcycles to the home of their victims and went straight to their targets, who were all at home, given that it was a weekend.
The gunmen killed the entire family and escaped ahead of the arrival of the Joint Task Force (JTF), whose soldiers arrived at the scene a few minutes after the victims had been killed.
Spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Magaji Majiya, an Assistant Superintendent, confirmed the attack on the family but declined further details.
The residents said that the police and the soldiers cordoned off the whole area in search of the suspects.
A police source, however, said that as at press time, no arrest had been made while adding that investigation had started.
Meanwhile, a similar tragedy befell a young man from Benue State, who was killed at Dakata Quarters in the state capital, some three days ago.
He was shot and killed inside his business centre by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko haram.
The deceased, whose name was given as Mr. Matthew Akume, was shot at close range while some of his valuables, especially his laptop, were taken away by the suspects.
“Four other persons were in the shop with him when they came. They asked two of them to lie down and the remaining two to go out of the shop, before they killed him,” said a witness.
He recalled that the suspect that pulled the trigger had a ‘small gun’, while the his colleagues, who were shooting outside, had a” big gun”.
The late Akume was a renowned member of St Louis Catholic Church , Bompai, Kano.

POLICE NOT AFTER ME- Davido

Pop star Davido has released an official statement denying the news of him being wanted by the Nigerian Police Force over the on-going assault case involving him and a taxi driver.

On Saturday, September 16, 2012, Crime Digest of Punch Newspapers reported that the Assistant Inspector General of Police had ordered the arrest of the popular pop singer.

Davido however debunks the news in his statement released to NET a day later after the news broke;

‘I want to assure all my beloved fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest. I went to the police some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name‘, Davido said in the statement released through his manager Asa Asika.

The 19-year-old insists that he did not beat up the now-popular Taxi man Femi Ajibola who claims he was assaulted by Davido and that even Susan (Davido’s supposed lady-friend who hired the Taxi man’s services) has denied the news too.

‘I did not beat up any taxi driver and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of money was missing in his taxi. In fact the lady in question stated that she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.‘, Davido explains.

He laments that he is being blackmailed but he will not give in to it

‘This is a case of blackmail, and I have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money. And to all those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring me down‘.

He just didn’t confess, but a source said Wunmi’s parents didn’t believe his story that she was shot by armed robbers, so they had to invoke her spirit (a common practice in many parts of Nigeria, particularly where the circumstances surrounding the death of a person is suspicious. When this is done, the killer is tormented by the spirit of the deceased until he or she confesses.)

So he confessed to the police. According to him, he is an armed robber unknown to wunmi. Wunmi came to his house that day, barged in and met him and his friends celebrating with guns on their table. She tried to run back, but they caught her, beat her, and raped her before they finally shot her. He said he had to do that so that Wunmi won’t tell anyone what she saw.

Luck ran out on a female member of a robbery gang on Thursday in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. She led a team of four robbers in a car to steal from a female passenger.

She was not so lucky to escape as probing eyes watched their robbery operation from a distance and sympathisers swooped on them rescuing the victim who was later Identified as Obiageli.

I don’t know where to start from or how to tell my story, but I know I need help and someone to tell me what to do. Dear Taiwo, I am at a loss; my heart aches and I am hurting. The sad thing, however, is the thought that I brought this on myself, please, kindly help me
I am the first daughter of my family. Although I have two elder brothers, according to my mother, a lot of responsibilities rests on my shoulders, especially those of my younger ones; three of them.
I finished my Ordinary National Diploma(OND) and, during the course of my industrial attachment, I met and fell in love with Dare, one of the IT executives at the company where I served.
I really did not know how it happened, it wasn’t what I planned, but Dare swept me off my feet and I fell for him. I am a member of the Celestial Church of Christ and an elderly woman, who was a secretary at the company and who, because of our religious affiliations, took me like her daughter, warned me.
I really do not know why; my parents also did not like him. My father, who normally takes to people, couldn’t stand him and he always told me then that there was something about Dare that he could not place.
I wish Mama Abigail, (that is what we all fondly called the elderly woman in my office) had told me all she knew about Dare. But even if she did, would I had listened at that time?
To cut my long story short, despite all the warnings and advice, I allowed Dare to have sex with me. In fact, he deflowered me and few months after that day, I discovered that I was pregnant.
Dare would have denied the paternity of my baby. If not for his mother. He lived with his mother and I had visited him at home several times. Thank God his mother liked me and when the issue of my pregnancy came up. She stood her ground and refused to allow me to have an abortion.
Apart from his own issue, I had a tough time at home with my parents and senior siblings. Eventually, my father consented to my relationship with him but he stood his ground on the fact that I must finish my Higher National Diploma before we could get married.
I was delivered of a baby boy; Dare’s carbon copy, I never knew even with the joy of the new baby that Dare had other plans for himself. During my pregnancy, in fact from the time his mother insisted that I keep the pregnancy, he became a changed man from the man I used to know. He treated me with so much disrespect and disdain that, sometimes, I was afraid to approach him for anything.
When it was time to buy the baby stuffs, his mother and mine provided the money. Even the day I gave birth, he was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, I was still living with my parents and they provided enough psychological support for me. I went back for my HND, and I went for Youth service. By the time I returned, I learnt Dare had married and was already raising his own family.
I had no choice but to continue with my life. The funny thing, however, is the fact that I was unable to relate with or even date any other man. As much as Dare disliked me, I loved him more.
My son marked his 10th birthday in June and you won’t believe that his father came back that day, asking for forgiveness and my hand in a relationship.
My parents refused to give their blessing. My father said what he was asking for was rather cheap. Dare wants me to be his other woman as his wedded wife still resides with him. People around me feel I deserve more than he is offering me. Even some of my friends are of the opinion that I don’t need Dare. Unanimously, it has been agreed that he should be allowed to take responsibility for his son.
My problem, however, is that my heart remains with Dare. How can I convince people around me that I love him so much that I don’t even mind being his other woman? Please, help me.

ROBBERS SHOT AND KILLED TASUED STUDENT IN BOYFRIEND'S HOUSE

Omowunmi Khadijat Adebayo

A 200 level student of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Wunmi Adebayo has been killed in her boyfriend’s house in Ijebu Ode.
The incident was said to have taken place at the Golden Estate, Ibadan Road, Ijebu Ode in the early hours of Monday.‘Wunmi, an English student of the institution, had visited her boyfriend on Sunday evening to spend the night with him.
Trouble was said to have started few minutes past 4am when a four-man armed robbery gang gained entry into their house through the kitchen door.
Thereafter, they allegedly held their victims hostage, brandishing guns and cutlasses and later broke into ‘Wunmi’s boyfriend’s room, identified simply as Taiwo and took him away, leaving the lady behind.
One of the victims who spoke with Daily Sun yesterday on condition of anonymity, stated that some members of the gang later went back to the girl in the room.
His words: “All what we were hearing was plea for mercy from the late Wunmi, but maybe because she failed to cooperate with the robbers she was shot.”
He said it was while they were trying to remove the gold necklace on her neck and she refused them that made them to shoot her on the head.

ADMISSION FRAUD IN U.I.

A notorious admission syndicate has been unmasked in the University of Ibadan (UI).
The gang, which comprises both staff and outsiders, was smashed recently when the university’s management discovered that over 63 students gained admissions through a fake process in the 2011/2012 session.
According to Crime watch investigation, three staff allegedly connived with four outsiders to perpetrate the admission fraud.
The victims of the admission rackets, according to investigation, were students between 100 and 400 levels before the bubble burst.
One of the victims, a 400 level student, who could not bear the trauma of wasting four years, had been admitted into a psychiatric hospital.
The syndicate issued fake admission letters, bogus receipts and even fake matriculation numbers to unsuspecting desperate students. The university’s Director of General Studies Programme, Prof. Ademola Dasilva, spoke to Crime watch on the shocking discovery.
Dasilva said: “We got 19 fake students who were apprehended in my unit within two weeks surveillance. I have over 15,000 students that passed through this unit every session. They are either freshers or bonafide students but they register in my department.
“I stumbled on a lead that ended  up in tracking a fake admission syndicate with considerable network in Lagos, Abeokuta and Ibadan.
“We arrested  three serving staff. The accused are Isaac Ubani ( Publication Unit of the Registry), Onaolapo Michael Adebayo (Dean of Science Office) and Adebiyi Omolade(Bursary).

U.S. EMBASSY IN LIBYA ATTACKED: Ambassador killed

The United States Ambassador to Libya John Christopher Stevens and four staff members of the embassy were killed in attacks on the Benghazi consulate on Tuesday night, the White House confirmed. The Libyan government has also said that an undisclosed number of Libyan security officers also died in the attack. Ambassador Stevens died from “injuries sustained in the attack” according to a press release from the US State Department.
Unidentified gunmen stormed the US consulate in Benghazi, opening fire on the compound and throwing handmade bombs. Libyan security personnel reportedly engaged the gunmen but had to withdraw when they were outmatched.
According to CNN, senior officials in the US government have said that the military has deployed drones looking for jihadi encampments in Benghazi and other parts of eastern Libya Wednesday night, as suspicions that Al-Qaeda linked groups may have had a hand in Tuesday’s attacks.
“I have directed my administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe,” said US President Barack Obama on Wednesday, “While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.”
The attack in Benghazi came after thousands of protesters gathered in front of the US embassy in Cairo in response to a film insulting Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Those demonstrating demanded the revoking of Egyptian citizenship by those involved in the making of the film and an apology from the US government.
The protest coincided with an already planned Salafi protest at the embassy on 11 September to demand the release of Omar Abdel Rahman.

Demonstrators in Cairo scaled the walls of the embassy in Garden City Tuesday night, tore the US flag, and raised a black flag favoured by Islamist groups. Protests continued in Garden City throughout Wednesday.

REDEEM PASTOR SET SELF ABLAZE; After impregnating choir member

A pastor with RCCG, Enerhen, Delta state recently burnt himself to death. It was gathered that the decision of the Pastor, simply identified as Pastor Celestine, to take his life was as a result of allegedly impregnating a choir member of the church whose name is given as Rose.
It was learnt that he pleaded with Rose to abort the pregnancy which she refused blatantly as she did not want to lose her life during the abortion. He gave her a cheque for N2,000,000, which she refused, even after explaining to her that her refusal to abort the pregnancy may lead to the fall of the parish.
After all efforts to get Rose to abort the pregnancy failed, he drove himself to Udu bridge under which he lit himself and was burnt to death. He was married and had a 2 month old baby from his wife of two years.

•3 cops, 1 lastma, 3 others dead as hoodlums shoot round Lagos.
Dare-devil robbers rattled Lagos yesterday, killing three policemen, one lastma and three civilians. The robbers, who operated in a black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), also injured three other civilians as they unleashed terror on different areas of the metropolis. One of the civilians, a bureau de-change operator, was shot in Agege.
The robbers were said to have started their operations from the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, killing a commercial motorcycle rider in Ijesha area. The robbers were said to have proceeded to Bariga, where they raided a commercial bank and carted away unspecified amount of money. They left Agege for Ogba but seeing that the police had barricaded the area, they began shooting sporadically, injuring many. The robbers, made a detour and were retreating through the Oba Akran Road, when they sighted a police patrol team. They intercepted the van and rained bullets on the policemen.

I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.

Complimenting on her character in the movie, Dikeh before to the Damage trilogy, showed to many why she is one of the actresses of tomorrow’s Nollywood.
Written and produced by vivacious and amiable actress cum producer, Uche Jombo, My Life, My Damage deals with the consequences of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS. A young lady who lives a reckless life abroad as a drug addict is given a rude shock when she discovers that she’s HIV positive and now has to seek redemption for herself. The movie tells the ugly story of young Dora I whose dream of becoming a medical doctor takes her on a roller coaster of missed steps that eventually defined her life.
A life she wishes could be reversed. Dead to her brother and alien to the world around her, Dora (Tonto Dikeh) choice of relationship brought about reversed romance, one filled with fun but with grave consequences. Speaking on the movie, the producer, Uche Jombo, said it’s high time Africa began to make movies that can best address some of the ills that has long affected it. “…Yea I agree that My Life, My Damage addresses a social phenomenon that is common to people the world over but like they say “Charity begins at home”. The earlier we begin to inform our children of the dangers of keeping bad company, the better so as to avoid future regret. The HIV/AIDS scourge and drug abuse has devastated many families the world over.
While some contacted the disease through ignorance, others were innocently infected. Set to begin its American tour with its first screening at the Nollywood Film Festival New York (NEA Awards) on September 1, 2012, the movie, directed by Moses Inwang, was set in modern day America. It got its good scenery from the state of Minnesota with some scenes shot in some choice locations in Lagos, Nigeria.

LATEST ON CYNTHIA OSOKOGU

Police detectives at the Area E Command, Lagos have said Cynthia Osokogu’s killers took pictures while sexually assaulting her.
The Area Commander, Damian Okoro, said, “The pictures are contained in a recovered black Compaq 610 laptop belonging to Nwabufor Okwuomo, one of the suspects who lured the deceased to Lagos.”
The laptop is also said to contain over 50 nude photographs of female victims who have fallen prey to the suspect.
Some of the photographs showed girls tied with rope and their mouths covered with cello tape with objects inserted in their private part.
Osokogu’s naked photographs also showed bites and wounds inflicted all over her.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation on Wednesday said it had concluded arrangements to sue the management of Cosmilla Hotel in Festac Town, Lagos, where Osokogu was murdered by ‘BlackBerry friends’ over illegal operation.
The deceased was allegedly drugged, raped and dispossessed of her belongings and later killed.
The corporation also said it had issued a query to the management of the hotel to explain why had refused to register with it in accordance with laid-down rules and regulations.
A statement issued by NTDC’s Director of Communications, Mr. Akin Onipede in Abuja quoted the Director-General of the corpration, Chief Segun Runsewe as saying that would “file former charges against the management of Cosmilla Hotel for  illegal operation since it was not registered with the corporation.”
He said, “The development which was confirmed by the Director General of the Corporation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe revealed that a former query had been issued to the hotel to which it had replied.”
“According to Otunba Runsewe, the management of the Hotel has already admitted that they had not registered with the Corporation which showed that the hotel is operating illegally.”
Runsewe insisted that the law would be followed to the letter but added that the NTDC would not interfere in the ongoing investigation by the security agencies.
He said, “We will allow them (security agencies) to do their job after which we will go to court.”

Nigerian comedian/actor/producer Bovi has talked about some of the most extreme reactions he’s gotten from fans due to his act.

During an interview with a news agency, Bovi said ‘My crazy experience happened when I went for a show recently and a particular fan just came from now where and gave me a dirty slap, I was shocked and the guy said I am a very big fan of yours, I was like you went too far in showing your appreciation towards me now.’

He also said Basketmouth and Ali Baba were big influences on his career, especially Basketmouth, with his style of ‘dropping the flows and compositions.’

it happened on monday, 3rd Sept. 2012. at Adeniji Adele, Dolphin Estate, Phase 2. A little girl ran into a woman's shop crying. The woman asked her why she was crying, but the little girl couldn't really express herself. She just kept pointing at a particular direction, and crying. Then a few minutes later, the shop owner saw a man approaching her shop and calling on the girl to follow him. The woman asked the man who he was and why he was after the girl. The man probably realized the women wasn't going to release the girl to him, so he tried to run. The woman raised an alarm immediately shouting ole ole, thinking he was a kidnapper, not knowing he had done something much worse after long story, the man opened up and they found blood on the girls pantiessss................................ Trust Lagos mob, they beat this devil in human form!!! before the police came  and took him away to where he belongs......... God have mercy!!!!

Rapper-entrepreneur Jay Z and pop singer Beyoncé have been announced as the 2012 highest-paid celebrity couple, according to Forbes.

The star couple who welcomed their first child Blue Ivy Carter in January 2012 moved up the list from second place – earning a combined total of $78m between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012.

A LOSS TO NOLLYWOOD

Nollywood actress Seun Ogunlade popularly known as Seun Effizy Po died on September 3, 2012 at a Lagos hospital - where she was rushed to about three days ago.

We’re told the deceased passed on in the early hours of this morning.

Colleagues say she was a promising actress with strong determination to make it big.

We could not immediately confirm the nature of her illness.

Ogunlade was a 2008 graduate of Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, in Ogun State.

An American pastor named Lamar Davis was arrested, for allegedly passing the HIV virus to unsuspecting female church members, It was learned from Mediatakeout.
that the married pastor is the former pastor of Full Gospel Baptist Church in Atlanta.
According to a new report from Dr Boyce Watkins, the pastor was arrested for reckless conduct after police found that he was sleeping with several women with whom he was not married. A woman by the name of Ronita McAfee says that she met the pastor on Facebook and began sleeping with him.
Ronita says that she became concerned when one of the pastor’s ex-girlfriends called to say that she had HIV. She claims that the pastor then counseled her (presumably leaning on the word of the good “lawud”) and told her to get tested. McAfee then says that she believed that, based on her observations, the pastor himself was not interested in getting treatment or changing his sexual behavior, in spite of his status. This is what prompted her to seek out a warrant for his arrest.

Ronita is, the first person to file for the arrest of someone who was found to be having unprotected sex in Clayton County, GA while knowing that he is HIV-positive. McAfee says that when the investigation began, another woman in the church leadership stepped forward with her confession about interacting with Davis. The woman even claimed that she’d been celibate for 15 years before meeting him. She too is HIV positive.
