The incident was said to have taken place at the Golden Estate, Ibadan Road, Ijebu Ode in the early hours of Monday.‘Wunmi, an English student of the institution, had visited her boyfriend on Sunday evening to spend the night with him.
Trouble was said to have started few minutes past 4am when a four-man armed robbery gang gained entry into their house through the kitchen door.
Thereafter, they allegedly held their victims hostage, brandishing guns and cutlasses and later broke into ‘Wunmi’s boyfriend’s room, identified simply as Taiwo and took him away, leaving the lady behind.
One of the victims who spoke with Daily Sun yesterday on condition of anonymity, stated that some members of the gang later went back to the girl in the room.
His words: “All what we were hearing was plea for mercy from the late Wunmi, but maybe because she failed to cooperate with the robbers she was shot.”
He said it was while they were trying to remove the gold necklace on her neck and she refused them that made them to shoot her on the head.
