Mariah Carey 'hung up when she was told Nicki Minaj is set to join American Idol panel'

'American Idol' Judges NOT A Done Deal -- and Mariah Carey is PISSED Nicki Minaj may well become a judge on "American Idol," but it will be at the expense of Mariah Carey, who we're told hung up the phone when she was told Nicki was the top candidate. Our Source (a friend in the US) connected with "Idol" says ... Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge's panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki (29) is a lot younger than Mariah (42).As for the composition of the judge's panel, we're told by no means is it a done deal.  There are 2 scenarios being played out. First, it's unclear if Randy Jackson will come back as a judge or a mentor.  If he leaves the judge's panel, there will be another spot to fill. The second scenario ... we're told some of the honchos believe it's a mistake to have 2 women and a man on the panel, and a 4th male judge would be necessary. As for who's still in the running, we're told Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias are leading the pack. And there's one other thing.  Sources connected with the show say they're worried ... if the judge's end up being Mariah, Nicki and Randy ... middle America might not welcome the blackout.

Beauty Tips: Achieving a smooth Skin Year-round

We all know that one baby-faced person with perfect skin. No blemishes, no dry spots – just a smooth, clear, radiant complexion. How do they achieve and maintain such a perfect complexion year-round? Here are some secrets.
1.Science and Medicine. The main thing women use to achieve the baby-face complexion are pills. There are several different kinds of pills that can control acne; birth control, hormones, antibiotics or pills specifically made for controlling acne. If you want to go this route, talk with your doctor and find out which would best be suited for you. If you are nature-oriented and do not want to mess around with pills, keep on reading. There are more beauty care secrets!
2.Use Cool Water. Many of us have long been taught that drying out your skin is the best way to control acne. We have news! It’s not. Drying out your skin will cause it to produce more oil to gain back its ‘protective layer’. Washing your face with a mild gel, such as Cetaphil or Spectrojel, and rinsing with cool-lukewarm water will keep your skin clean and clear without drying it out.
3.Keep Hydrated รข€“ Inside and Out. Aside from drinking plenty of water each day, fill your sink with lukewarm or cool water and add a few drops of oil. Coconut oil and Almond Oil are great choices. Hold your breath and soak your face for as long as you can. Come up for air and keep soaking for about 3-5 minutes. Your skin loves to soak up water, and you probably know that after having a long bath your skin feels the most soft and smooth. Finish your soak by immediately applying a light, unscented facial moisturizer and either let your skin air-dry or gently pat dry with a towel
. 4.Blot Excess Oil. If your skin is constantly oily and shiny, blot with oil absorbing sheets. There are many different brands and they all have one main goal; to remove excess oil without the need for adding more pore-clogging powder to your face. Keeping as less stuff off your face as possible will keep it looking fresh and healthy.
5.Keep it Clean! The number one rule of maintaining healthy looking and flawless skin is to keep your hands off it. Your hands and fingertips are crawling with bacteria. You don’t want this on your face and seeping into your pores. This is the number one way breakouts occur! Try to keep as much away from your face as possible and always remember to wash off your makeup at the end of each day.
Following these simple beauty care tips will give you smooth, clear and hydrated skin making it easy to apply makeup or feel confident without wearing any cover-up at all.

UPDATE: Kuramo Beach Ocean Surge.

FIVE more bodies swept away by weekend ocean surge at Kuramo beach in Victoria Island were recovered yesterday at the shore of Bar beach. The recovered bodies were those of a two- year- old boy, Daniel Ajose, his mother, Mrs Mariam Ajose, Mr Joseph Oke, Olumide, and Alhaji Babatunde Benson, alias KC . This has brought the number of the dead to 10. There was a mild drama yesterday at Kuramo beach as some divers whose services were employed to scout for the bodies threatened to stop further work, alleging that they had been shortchanged. The divers numbering four  explained that before they started the search on Sunday they had bargained for N50,000 at the completion of the job yesterday but those who hired them reneged on the agreement.  One of the divers who identified himself as Segun  said “today (yesterday), after we have recovered some of the bodies, we were given one thousand naira to share among ourselves”. It could be recalled that there was an ocean surge last saturday at about 2. am at the Kuramo Beach which left 15 people missing.

STAYING HEALTHY THE NATURAL WAY: GARCINIA COLA

STAYING HEALTHY THE NATURAL WAY: GARCINIA Cola, popularly called bitter kola has been identified as a potent antibiotic which could be efficacious in the treatment of HIV and AIDS. Bitter kola is found in the tropical rain region and given different names in Nigeria. It is known as Orogbo in Yorubland, Namijin-goro among Hausa, Akuilu in Igboland.A researcher with the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA), Mrs. Chinyere Nwokeke told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the kola could be used in treating opportunistic infections associated with HIV.Bitter kola "is highly recommended in the treatment of HIV and AIDS because of its anti-bacterial, detoxification and cleansing properties," she said. She said that the chemical Saponin in bitter kola is responsible for its cleansing effect. Saponin is mainly used as tonic for the liver, it enhances the functions of the liver and gall bladder."It is also very effective in the treatment of cough, diarrhoea, tuberculosis and other bacterial infections."When food is suspected to be contaminated by bacteria, chew bitter kola immediately after, it will forestall the development of any infection or poisoning," she added.Nwokeke said that in the past, the kola was eaten mostly by the elderly because of their belief that it could prolong life."Actually researches in modern science have revealed that bitter kola contains chemical compounds that will help the breakdown of glycogen in the liver and has other medicinal uses which account for its longevity property in man. "Bitter kola is anti- poison too, it has the ability to repel evil men and spirits, it could sound superstitious but it works, she said. The naturalist said that the seed and the bark of bitter kola should be eaten together in cases where food poisoning is suspected, "it helps to detoxify the system.""It can also be used to repel snakes for those who live in areas that are prone to snakes," she said. She also said that bitter kola could be used in the treatment of breast cancer as it has anti-cancerous effect. For children, when ground and mixed with honey, bitter kola could be used in the treatment of measles and mumps, it should be taken orally and also applied externally in the case of mumps," she said.Nwokeke also revealed the efficacy of the bitter kola in vomiting for both children and adults."It can be used to clear coarse voice, it clears the voice by stimulating the production of mucus along the lining of the vocal tube which softens the dry throat," she added. She also revealed that the body craves for bitter foods from time to time. "Nature advocates a balance in everything, when sweet foods are eaten in excess, the body tends to be more acidic, in order to balance this, bitter foods should be eaten occasionally.""The body is at its optimum health when it is slightly alkaline

Between Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde!

How it happened or who started it but one thing was clear there was only enough room in the building for one Diva! And Im talking about Nollywood screen goddesses Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde! A couple of weeks ago those two would not have been caught dead in the same room together (except they were being well paid for a movie!) Like I said no one is sure how the feud began ... some say it started when Genevieve who was upcoming then, saw Omotola in Zeb Ejiro's office and she walked up to greet her and she was snubbed publicly by the latter, others say it was the fight for supremacy about who is the biggest actress in Nollywood but whatever it is what was clear was they both could not stand each other .... until recently! They were both seen sitting TOGETHER on the same table at the recent launch of Nike Oshinowo's new exercise video, cooing like two little tweety birds! You can imagine the shock waves felt by most Nollywood insiders. What ever caused them to come together and bury the hatchet, no one knows but one thing I do say is 'Right on, Girls!' By the way, you both look nice.

He said: “One Mr. Benson Ojoto,  Director of Ministry of Economic Planning reported on August 15, that while driving  into his residence  at Ezenei, Asaba, in his official Hilux pick-up, five  armed men trailed and kidnapped him. “However,  he escaped from them and they drove away with the Hilux.
