NEED A GOOD SLEEP? FOLLOW THIS TIPS

  1. Stick to a schedule. Mum was right when she set a time we always had to go to sleep as kids. Sticking to a schedule allows your body to set its internal rhythm so you can get up at the time you want, consistently, every single day. Also, make sure you try to keep the same schedule on weekends too, otherwise the next morning, you’d wake later and feel overly tired.
  2. Sleep only at night. Avoid daytime sleep if possible. Daytime naps steal hours from nighttime slumber. Limit daytime sleep to 20-minute, power naps.
  3. Exercise. It’s actually known to help you sleep better. Your body uses the sleep period to recover its muscles and joints that have been exercised. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult.
  4. Taking a hot shower or bath before bed helps bring on sleep because they can relax tense muscles.
  5. Avoid eating just before bed. Give yourself at least 2 hours from when you eat to when you sleep. This allows for digestion to happen (or at least start) well before you go to sleep so your body can rest well during the night, rather than churning away your food.
  6. Avoid caffeine. It keeps you awake and that’s now what you want for a good nights sleep. We all know that.
  7. Read a fiction book. It takes you to a whole new world if you really get into it. And then take some time to ponder over the book as you fall asleep. I find as I read more and more, regardless of the book, I get more tired at night and so find it easier to fall asleep. Different for others?
  8. Have the room slightly cooler. I prefer this to a hot room. I prefer to turn off the heat and allow the coolness to circulate in and out of the windows. If I get cold, I wear warmer clothes. It also saves on the bills as you’re not going to require the heat all night long.
  9. Sleep in silence. I find sleeping with no music or TV on more easy and restful. I guess others are different, but sleep with no distractions is best for a clearer mind.
  10. Avoid alcohol before bedtime. It’s a depressant; although it may make it easier to fall asleep, it causes you to wake up during the night. As alcohol is digested your body goes into withdrawal from the alcohol, causing nighttime awakenings and often nightmares for some people.

OBASANJO AND IDRIS ABDUKAREEM AGAIN

Former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has once again criticised rapper Eedris Abdulkareem over his hit song ‘Jaga jaga,’ like he did in 2004. While speaking at a forum organized by Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, the former president expressed his disapproval of the ‘modern day youth towards Nigeria.’ In that light, Obasanjo recalled Abdulkareem’s 2004 hit track ‘Jaga jaga’ and said that the KENNIS Music rapper doesn’t believe in the future of the country. ‘One of the worst problems Nigeria is facing is disbelief. Nigerians no longer believe in themselves neither do they believe in their country. That takes me back to that song ‘jaga jaga’, how could a sane man dare to call his country jagajaga? It is the height of blasphemy. We are grooming our youths for tomorrow’s leadership and with such persons I don’t think the country can move forward’ Obasanjo was quoted as saying. ‘Jaga jaga’ was released on Abdulkareem’s third solo album in 2004, and turned into a nationwide hit shortly after

Man Trying To Board Plane With 27 Snakes Arrested

A Brazilian man was arrested for trying to board a flight at Orlando International Airport while carrying 27 snakes that he’d wrapped in pantyhose and stashed away in inside stereo speakers, authorities said. Mateus Del Maso, Jr. checked the speakers as luggage, but they were inspected and the snakes hidden inside were discovered. The creatures never made it onto the aircraft. Dal Maso purchased the serpents at the National Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona Beach, Fla. He admitted he was going to carry the snakes – which he valued at about $10,000 – into Brazil and breed them for commercial purposes, a release from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said. He did not have the proper authorization to take the reptiles – one ball python, seven boa constrictors, and 19 color morph corn snakes – into Brazil. Dal Maso pleaded guilty on Aug. 23 to attempting to smuggle the snakes. He served two days in Orange County Jail and was fined $6,000. He was also sentenced to one year of supervised release, and must report to a probation officer within 72 hours of his arrival if he ever returns to the U.S. The snakes were taken to an undisclosed care facility. The arrest came about as a result of a multi- agency law enforcement operation that’s been dubbed “Operation Snake Pit.” The program seeks to prevent the illegal shipping of reptiles. POWER MINISTER THROWN OUT

Prof. Barth Nnaji was on tuesday sacked by the presidency for Double standard. He was said to have interest in GEOMETRICS one of the companies bidding to buy PHCN. Analysts said Nnaji should have declared his interest in the firm earlier. Indications are that Nnaji may have been asked to voluntarily resign from the cabinet instead of being confronted with a disgraceful sack as a result of the clear case of conflict of interest. Labour Unions in the power industry had called attention to the fact that Nnaji’s appointment constituted a clear case of conflict of interest since he was a player in the industry as the proprietor of Aba based Geometrics Power Company. The fact however remain that the man did well while he was in charge. Goodluck sir in your future endeavours.

BEWARE!

Scam Alert: Ongoing Viral Telephone Fraud A faithful Nigerian by the name of Taiwo sent us an email dated August 27th, 2012 According to the email, An accountant in Enugu experienced this phone scam. Read the email below. "It all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he was from my mobile service provider and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2 hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting, I did not question and shutdown my cell phone. After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I saw several missed calls from my family members and the others were from the number that had called me earlier – 3954380. I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my parents even heard ‘my voice’ crying out loud asking for help. My parent was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a police report. Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such scams reported. Most of the cases reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money. Be careful as this kind of scam might happen to any of us!!! Those guys are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, Ask Around first! Please share this with friends and family. They might be the next target and trust us this email will save them from the hands of these jobless scammers.

The Cynthia We knew-

Neighbours and school mates. The gruesome murder of beautiful Cynthia Osokogu in Lagos has no doubt sent shock waves across the nation. While some are yet to accept the reality of her untimely departure, her friends and colleagues in Nasarawa State, especially Keffi where she carried out her studies and business, are searching for the right words to convey their utter shock and disbelief. Speaking with LEADERSHIP, a graduate of Geography and Mining from the Nasarawa State University (NSUK), Emmanuel Samuel, now on national youth service in Kaduna and who is also close to some of the members of Cynthia’s family said: “The news came to me as a rude shock.” Samuel noted that he was confounded the more because Cynthia was by every standard well catered for by her parents and had no need to take any such decision of crossing half of this country to honour an invitation from unknown people in the name of social networking. Mr. Samuel further noted that Cynthia was not known to be materialistic and had never demonstrated any such excessive crave   to warrant losing her life in her prime. “Besides, if she were the type that looked up to men, she would not have been so enterprising as to run a successful business of her own,” he added. On her part, Miss Jennifer Gana, a student in the department of Business Administration, said Cynthia was a sociable student who was popular on campus because of the things she represented. According to her, besides being the model of exquisite beauty, being one of the very few girls on campus who owned an automobile caught the attention of the uptown men on campus. “Cynthia was easy to talk. I would miss her warmth and smiles a lot,” Gana said. On their part, Mallam Dangir Ramalan and the caretaker of Zuma Plaza, Sanusi Shehu, both said they had a cordial relationship with her. Shehu remarked that Cynthia  was always the first to settle her bills. Recounting how they got the news, he said: “Two weeks ago, the overseer of the Plaza, Mallam Ramalam, asked me to remind Cynthia that her tenancy was due to expire soon and she should make efforts to renew it. “I spoke to her salesgirl, an Igede girl from Oju local government area of Benue State, and she said her madam had travelled but would be informed as soon as she returns, little did we know we were never going to meet in this life again.” Speaking to our correspondent in pidgin English, Cynthia’s  Senegalese co-tenant at the Plaza, Muhammadu Diallo, said the deceased would always mind her own business and that except you had any dealings with her you would hardly notice her arrival or departure. “She is reserved and doesn’t make unnecessary noise like most of the girls you find around,” he noted.  A worker at the Nasarawa State University (NSUK) who craved anonymity said many students will miss Cynthia because she was very benevolent and many students depended on her generosity to fill in the gaps. He added that whenever there was an event at the department, she was always at the forefront of mobilising finances for the success of the programmes.

More on Cynthia

Jos – The parents of slain Cynthia Osokogu have described the dead of their only daughter as devastating, illogical and highly incomprehensible saying though vengeance belong to God, those who perpetrated the dastardly act should be brought to book so as to deter those who take pleasure in killing innocent people at will. Speaking at their ECWA Staff new GRA home at Farin-Gada area of Jos, the parents in separate interview to newsmen further described the late Masters Degree student as a very intelligent girl who was not playing pranks but had a promising future, full of life. According to the father, Major-General Frank Osokogu (rtd), the dead of their daughter though painful and shocking has not been in vain as it is a caution to youths who get to know friends on social media of whatever name and venture to meet the unknown people.

The recent donation of N2million to Funmi Lawal the law student diagnosed with malignant sarcoma by ace producer, singer and Chief Executive of Mavin records Don Jazzy may have stirred up the entertainment industry but it’s left one man sad. And the sad man is no other than Don Jazzy, the man at the centre of the donation. Mavin records source told Nigerian Campus Personality NCP that “Don Jazzy is really sad that the donation was made public. You know its not his style to talk about such thing in public. That donation was made in the name of Mavin records and that is why he is wondering why and how his name popped up in the matter”. “His decision to help out the sick lady was born out his desire to help out the needy once in a while. If you go to his twitter handle and facebook, you’d think its a market place as the pages are covered with thousands of requests from persons asking for all manners of assistance” the source further revealed. For now, no one can tell, what this development may have impacted on the former Mo’hit record’s boss. Lawal’s story made the headlines on August 20, 2012, with many soliciting help for her to stay alive. The cost of her full medical treatment was put at N4m. Barely 24 hours later, Mavin Records CEO Don Jazzy, who has previously shown philanthropic tendencies, has, according to sources, donated half of the money.

Some lecturers at the University of Jos, Plateau State, have just sent a petition to the Mass Communications Department to warn their students for provocative but indecent dress sense. This wass made known by Head of the Department of Mass Comm, Christiana Best who inform the students for the need to introduce corporate dressing. She said the idea to introduce corporate dress for the students in the department followed complaints by some lecturers that the students’ indecent dressing distracts their attention during lectures. Ms. Best said on Wednesday in Jos that the move is aimed at promoting decency among the students. NCP Hopes other universities can follow suit.

UNEMPLOYMENT AND ITS IMPACT IN NIGERIA

According to National Bureau of Statistic (NBS), the unemployment rate in Nigeria has increased to 23.9 percent for the year 2011, while its projected to rise above 25 percent for the year 2012.
Government policy on job creation especially among youths and graduates has fallen far short of meeting its target.  The environment remains unfriendly for employment generation as the Niger Delta Militant and Boko Haram continue to perpetuate evil of all kinds. Nigerian Human Development Index which stands at 0.423 is one of the worst in the world. According to the NBS about 69 percent of Nigerians live in relative poverty that is about 112 million of Nigeria’s population of over 160 million people.
In Nigeria, a privileged few are living in affluence while the majority are wallowing in abject poverty. Unemployment is leading to more girls being forced into prostitution. Since the government is not solving the problem, young teenage girls, undergraduates and graduates who are not gainfully employed, prostitute in the name of ‘hustling’. Interviewed female students from UNILAG, LASU and UI, submitted that they patronize ‘aristos' and other men as means to make ends meat and to support their families.
Unemployment in the country contributes to increase internet fraud and robbery. Able-bodied youths, male and female present themselves as international businessmen and women on the internet with the intention to carry out fraudulent acts while others rob for livelihood. Government should formulate concrete policies devoid of political interest that will revitalize our moribund industries and encourage locally made goods. Government should also tackle the security problem, with particular reference to Boko Haram palaver.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT -BOKO HARAM RELATIONS

Immediately Dr Goodluck Jonathan became the president of Nigeria, some northern political parties vowed to make the country ungovernable. Not long after this statement, terror was unleashed in the northern part of the country by an Islamic militant group- Boko Haram
The dehumanizing and nefarious activities of Boko Haram with its attendants bombing and killing persist till date. Interestingly few individuals within the National Assembly have been linked with the group. No serious action has been taken against these people who walk and associate freely within the country. If these individuals are untouchable, its however indicate a symbiosis relationship between the FG and those who represent Boko Haram.
Detected hideout of Boko Haram still exists. Nigerian Army informs the sect each time they attack. This is done diplomatically by giving the group 24 hours ultimatum. This is more symbiosis; it is brotherly love between the Federal Government and Boko Haram.
Some months ago, a Boko Haram leader whose son was killed was heavily compensated with money by the Federal Government, so that the group will not strike. You don’t appeal to a dictator/ The appeasement policy of 1938 in Munich toward Adolf Hilter, by the Allied Forces led to the outbreak of the World War II in 1939.
On Wednesday 15, August 2012, the minister of Information, Labaran Maku told journalist in Abuja that the Federal Government was not averse to discussing with the group. We have accepted dialogue as a way of bringing the situation to an end as quickly as possible, the minister said. And during a visit to Trinidad and Tobago, President Goodluck Jonathan, told the Nigerian community that members of Boko Haram are our (his) siblings and brother. He said ‘’you cannot mobilize the whole soldier to go and wipe out your entire family’’. Boko Haram is Federal Government- Federal Government is Boko Haram.
Please resolve your differences and settle quick so Nigerian who the ‘grass’ can live in peace.

Can someone give us the advantages of this? What effect will this have in the land?

ADVANCED ‘COLLABO’- FEMALE TEACHERS HAVE SEX WITH FIVE STUDENTS.

Not too many people would have heard or seen this advanced ‘gang sex’ or ‘collabo’. It did happened as a former North Texas high school teacher was convicted last Friday and sentenced to five years in prison for having sex with five 18-year old students at home.
Brittni Nicole Colleps. 28 years old, a former Kennedale High school is married with three children. Brittni Nicole had sex with the five students at her home over two months in 2011, the Terrant country jury said. Three former students who testified on Thursday said that they did not considered themselves victim and not want to see their former teacher prosecuted.
Arlington police detective, Jason Houston testified that charges were filed because ’18 or not, it is a crime’ for a teacher to have sex with her student.
Two former students told jurors their relationship with Colleps began to text message that quickly turned sexual.

SALES OF USED CONDOM: A MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD.

Apart from the campaign of the United Nations’ agency World Health Organization (WHO), men and women are aware of the dangers of unsafe sexual intercourse. Some individual takes steps to protect themselves against sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancies by using condoms popularly known as ‘CD’ or ‘Rain Coat’. However it is shocking to note that they stand a greater risk, if used condoms are not properly disposed.
It has been gathered that condoms not properly disposed by lodgers are in hot demand but spiritualist who pay as much as 10,000 for a fresh condom( that is one used few hours before the buyer came) and between 5,000 and 8,000 for old one( that is one used between 10 to 12 hours ago or overnight)
Sales of used condoms is a lucrative business in some hotels in Orile,  Ajegunle and Festac where hotel staff or attendants are not well paid. According to one in a rela… attendant ‘you know we are not well paid bu the hotel owners, so any avenue you know you will get money to make ends meet, you will go for it. At least if it is not stealing. So when some people (ritualist) were coming to ask for used condom we never took it to be anything serious and they persisted  we started gathering them for sale. Since we didn’t have anything to lose’
It is also revealed that swabs, which ladies used after intercourse are in hot demands by the ritualists. Swabs are not as costly as used condoms, swabs are sold for 3,00 or 5,000 depending on the state of the swab, that is, its freshness.
It is unsafe to have sexual intercourse without condom, it is also risky not to dispose used condoms and swabs properly.

THE BENEFITS OF VACATION

Health Benefits Taking time away from work and routine allows the body to replenish and repair itself, according to Karen Matthews of Mind Body Center at the University of Pittsburgh, quoted on npr.com. The center surveyed 1,399 participants recruited for studies on cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and other conditions, and found that leisure activities, including taking vacations, contributed to higher positive emotional levels and less depression among the participants. Other benefits include lower blood pressure and smaller waistlines, reports npr.com. Women especially seem to benefit from taking vacations, according to a 2005 study conducted by Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin, published in the Wisconsin Medical Journal and reported on medicalnewstoday.com. Women who vacationed less often than once every two years were more likely to suffer from depression and increased stress than women who took vacations at least twice a year. Creativity and Innovation Benefits Robert Kriegel, author of "How to Succeed in Business Without Working So Damn Hard," says workers get many of their best ideas away from the job. Without the pressure to respond to each crisis that arises, workers have the opportunity to consider innovative approaches, Kriegel explains on money.cnn.com. "Vacation should be really defined as a time when we can really turn off those tech work savers and just relax and have fun," says Robert R. Butterworth, a Los Angeles psychologist with International Trauma Associates, quoted on abc.com.

MORE MONEY FOR FUNMI LAWAL

More respite has come the way of Funmi Lawal the UNILAG law graduate of 2011 who needed 4 million for cancer treatment. Don Jazzy gave her 2 million and now Tonto Dike and Halima Abubakar has also donated 1 million for her treatment. NIGERIAN CAMPUS PERSONALITY says thank you to you all who has rise up to this humanity call.

I AM NOT AFRAID

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, has declared that he is not afraid of being sacked. He made the declaration on Wednesday in Abuja while meeting with reporters ahead of their September 8 match against the Lone Star of Liberia.
It was an apparent response to the Minister of Sports Bolaji Abdullahi, who has insisted that the Eagles must qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations holding in South Africa. Keshi and the other national football coaches have come under increased pressure to win their matches following the poor performance of Nigeria at the London 2012 Olympics. The game plan set out for Keshi’s team now is to gun for outright wins in the two-legged clash and build up on that to South Africa for the Nations Cup next year.
The country’s dismal performance in sports actually began with football when the Eagles lost out of the first round at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and capped it by failing to qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup. The other teams, especially the Falcons, followed suit by failing to qualify for the All Africa Games and the Olympics.
On Wednesday Keshi told reporters that if he got sacked as the Eagles’ handler, depending on the outcome of the match, it would not be the first time a coach would lose his job.
“I will not be the first coach in the world and I will not be the last if I am to be sacked. I qualified the Eagles with former coach Shaibu Amodu in 2002, but we did not go to the World Cup,’’ he told News Agency of Nigeria.
“Sacking is not a big thing in our job because you are hired today and tomorrow you are fired. So what is the big deal?
“You sack me today and tomorrow, I get a better job.”
The coach said that he was already under pressure on how to coordinate the team to qualify for the Nations and World Cup finals.
“I have pressure on how I am going to direct my players and how I am going to get the best out of them to beat Liberia; that’s already enough pressure,” he said.
Keshi, who has also coached Togo and Mali, stressed that qualifying the Eagles for the Nations Cup was more paramount to him than a directive from anybody.
“This game is crucial and as such the players need to feel the presence and support of everybody; this will boost their confidence, and the outcome will be a good result,” he said.

UPDATE ON THE GENERAL DAUGHTER'S DEATH

You must all have seen or read (from news media NIGERIAN CAMPUS PERSONALITY INCLUDED) of the story of how Cynthia Udoka Osokogu was killed by her Facebook friends. First, the news went viral that she had been missing since late July 2012. Her body was later found in a morgue in Lagos. Here’s the full story of how she died, how her killers were caught and their account of what they did to her.
What Happened to Cynthia?
24 Year Old Cynthia Osokogu left Abuja in late July 2012 (according to reports published on the 22nd of July 2012). Like many enterprising young people, the post-graduate student of Nasarawa State University was a clothing retailer and had travelled to Lagos to purchase new stock. Cynthia had been chatting with some new “friends” on Facebook for a few months. In the course of their conversations, they developed a friendship and a level of trust. These young men were also university students, they seemed normal and promised to host Cynthia when she came to Lagos.
According to reports, these young men picked Cynthia up from the airport in Lagos and drove her to a hotel in Festac. At the hotel, they tied her up, robbed her of all the money she brought to shop for her business and strangled her to death. There is speculation that they paid for her plane ticket and promised to pay for her hotel as well. Only Cynthia knows if this is true. Whatever the truth is, Cynthia trusted her new friends and had no idea that they had sinister plans.
They then left the hotel and quickly deleted her from their Facebook friend list to remove any trace of their connection. The hotel found her body and since her ID cards and mobile phone had been stolen, they could not identify her or call friends and family. Her body was then deposited in a morgue in Lagos. All this time, her family and friends were praying for her safe return.
How the Killers Were Caught
At some point, one of the culprits accidentally answered Cynthia’s phone and the call was traced to Festac. Therefore, her missing person’s police report was submitted to the Area E Command in Festac. This enabled her family to find her body in the morgue and also led them to the hotel. With the help of CCTV footage from the hotel, the killers were identified.
According to reports, these two young men are university students who have now confessed that they killed Cynthia and that she is their sixth victim. The gang reportedly specializes in luring unsuspecting young women, robbing them of their possessions before killing them. Though there are speculations that their motive was ritualistic, it appears that it was greed and their main goal was to rob and kill. The pharmacist who supplied the drugs used on Cynthia and hotel staff have also been arrested. According to Police spokesperson Ngozi Braide, “Six people were arrested on Sunday over the incident and investigations are ongoing”.
The Killers Account of how Cynthia was killed
According to PM News, two murder suspects were paraded today by the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja. Echezona Nwabufor (aged 33) and Ezekiel Nnechuwu Olisa Eloka (aged 23) narrated how they drugged the daughter of a retired General, Miss Cynthia Akuzogwu Udoka, 25, and strangled her in order to steal her money. One of the suspects, Eloka said they killed Cynthia because they thought she had a lot of money in her possession. But after the dastardly act, they did not find a reasonable amount of money on her. The suspects claimed they met her on the Facebook and on Blackberry. They then invited her to come to Lagos to buy goods at cheaper prices.
When she got to Lagos, we took her to a hotel in Festac. We thought she had a lot of money, but she said she didn’t have any money. We gave her Reflon tablet in her Ribena drink. After this, we slept with her for 12 hours in that hotel. We discovered that the tablet did not work quickly on her. We then attacked her, tied her up and used cellotape to cover her mouth. After that, we beat her to tell us where she kept the money. When we didn’t get any money from her, we tied her mouth and strangled her and then we abandoned her in the hotel and fled.
The suspects and the retired General’s daughter became friends on Facebook and were exchanging messages and phone calls. She told them she was coming to Lagos. They met her at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja from where they ushered her into a hotel in Festac town, Lagos. Briefing journalists on how policemen were able to arrest the suspects, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Abubakar Manko, said detectives made use of the close circuit television, CCTV, at the hotel where the crime was committed to identify them. The Area Commander, Area ‘E’ Police Command, ACP Okoro added that the suspects who are undergraduates of Nigerian universities were nabbed through the call logs of the telephone conversations they had with the late Cynthia who was a post graduate student of Nasarawa State University.
When the suspected killers strangled Cynthia, they deposited her corpse at the mortuary of Isolo General Hospital in Lagos. ACP Okoro stated that many ATM cards, about 23 SIM cards, different identity cards were recovered from the suspects. Police sources said the two suspects will soon be arraigned in court to answer a charge of murder.
Lessons to be learnt
So many comments have been posted  online blaming Cynthia however, this could have happened to anyone. With social media, this false sense of comfort and trust can be very misleading. We know couples who met on Facebook or BBM groups that are still together. If you ask them if they took security measures to protect themselves when they first met, many will confess that they did not. We hear of friendships built on Twitter and BBM, where the first meeting was in the home of one of the friends. The truth is anything can happen. You have to be savvy and wise.

5 WAYS TO ENJOY YOUR EXERCISING:

EXERCISING Is staying in shape always something that gets bumped to the bottom of your list? I know many people that complain about not having enough time to exercise. I think they are lying to themselves. The real problem is that they hate exercising, so it will never be a priority. I used to hate exercising too. Going to the gym, running and most forms of physical activity seemed dull and painful compared to most other ways I could spend my time. But by not giving up and looking for a way I could enjoy working out, I reversed this pattern. Now I exercise 5-6 times per week and I hate not being able to go. Here’s some tips to make exercise something you actually want to do:
1. Make it a Habit – Remove the thinking element. If you can make exercise a habit, then it becomes that much easier to go. Here’s some tips on making habits stick if you aren’t sure where to start.
2. Get a Partner – Get someone else to go to the gym with you. Pick someone who is committed to their health. Not only can you socialize with someone while you’re there, but you’ll have a backup in case your motivation alone isn’t enough to drag yourself out there.
3. Tune Your Challenge Level – Here are two bad ways to start exercising. Go out and run until your winded and dry-heaving into a ditch. Show up to the gym, walk around, don’t do anything strenuous and go back home. In one case you put the challenge level to high, the other wasn’t challenging at all. Your goal is to set a workout routine that is challenging, but not overwhelming. Challenge is key to enjoyment.
 4. Set Goals – Not weight-loss or muscle gain goals, but fitness goals. Set goals to beat your past records in distance ran, push-ups or chin- ups you can do, weight you can lift or degree you can stretch. Fitness goals make the gym a game where you strive to beat your previous high-score.
5. Get Past Your Comfort Zone – So what if you aren’t the most svelte or muscular person in the gym? Self-consciousness can be a big obstacle to enjoying your workout. The key is to get used to it. When you continue to show up, you’ll pay less attention to the people around you and more to your workout.

Goldie's Fiance?

The Big Brother Africa star game second runner up Prezzo says he will marry Goldie if she says yes to his request. The 32-year-old Kenyan who is currently visiting in Nigeria, says he did not just travel ‘all the way from Kenya to play in Nigeria’; but to come and express his feelings to a woman nature brought his way in the Big Brother  star game house. Prezzo, who apologised to Nigerians for the way he treated Goldie in the house, says he’s announcing his interest in Goldie publicly because they both met publicly in the Big Brother house; adding that he is ready to do whatever it takes to make her his Mrs. ‘I was not able to express all my feelings to Goldie in the house due to paranoia and I am ready to come and fight for a prize that worth it and that will make me a real winner…’No words from Goldie yet.

IF NOT FOR MUSIC. Chocolate City singer, Brymo has revealed football and zoology as his other interests apart from music. He said this in a recent interview with The Nation newspapers where he expressed his interest in football and animals, adding that music has however taken the centre stage, ‘I used to like football a lot; suddenly music took its place’, he added. Speaking on his album, he disclosed that plans are currently in place towards the release of his sophomore album which will be released soon. According to him, ‘I am working on my sophomore album called The son of a carpenter due to be out in the last quarter of the year, I just concluded the video for my second single titled Good Morning , so far, it’s been a fine year’. Brymo, 26, released his debut album Brymstone with Bujoc Records in 2007. He is mostly popular for hits including Ara, Oleku (with labelmate Ice Prince) and most recently, Good morning

US billionaire George Soros 'takes' Manchester United

NEW YORK  (AFP) – US billionaire George Soros has bought a stake in Manchester United, the British football club that made its Wall Street debut earlier this month, according to a filing with US regulators on Monday. Soros’ investment firm bought approximately 3.1 million class A shares, or 7.85 percent of the total Class A shares, a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed. That comprises 1.9 percent of Manchester United, when the powerful Class B shares held by members of the Glazer family, who control and direct the club, are taken into account. Class B shares enjoy 10 times the voting rights in the company as compared with Class A shares. After an underwhelming initial public offering on August 10, shares in the club finished Monday at $13.06, down 6.7 percent from the IPO price of $14. Still, the club earned $233 million from the IPO, which valued it at about $2.3 billion, making it the most valuable sports team in the world.

Keep our Finger Crossed

Stephanie Henshaw
According to Encomium magazine, the man of God and head pastor of Household of God told Christian leaders who went to see him that he will reveal what his wife did to him to make him end their marriage, sometime next year. They said Pastor Okotie has refused to listen to admonitions and pleas by other pastors who have repeatedly called him or visited his church. He has refused to tell anyone what Stephanie Henshaw did to him; all he says is that he's not ready to give details now but will reveal all a year from now.

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR BACK "HOME" IN LONDON

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR BACK "HOME" LONDON (AFP) – Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday announced that Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has returned to the club on a permanent basis after signing from Manchester City. Adebayor, 28, spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane from City and scored 18 goals in 37 appearances to finish the campaign as the London club’s leading scorer. Spurs did not reveal how much they had paid to secure Adebayor’s services but reports in the British media claimed the transfer fee was £5 million ($7.9 million, 6.3 million euros). “I am pleased to be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis after finally agreeing my departure with Manchester City,” Adebayor told the club website. “It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back at Tottenham Hotspur. I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again.” Adebayor is new Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas’ third summer signing after Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson joined from German club Hoffenheim and Belgian centre-back Jan Vertonghen arrived from Dutch giants Ajax. Beaten 2-1 at Newcastle United in their opening game of the new Premier League campaign, Spurs had started the 2012-13 season with Jermain Defoe as their only recognised senior striker. Russian international Roman Pavlyuchenko left to join Lokomotiv Moscow in January, while experienced Frenchman Louis Saha was released in June and has subsequently joined Sunderland. Adebayor arrived in England in 2006, joining Spurs’ arch rivals Arsenal from Monaco and spending two and a half years with the club before moving to City in 2009. He also spent time on loan at Real Madrid in the second half of the 2010-11 season.

BASKET MOUTH TURNS WRESTLER AT OWN HANG-OUT

One of the foremost comedians in Nigeria, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basket Mouth recently threw caution and decorum to the wind when he engaged one of the patrons of his club-Embassy in a fisticuffs. The fight which many tagged unnecessary started when a client went to him as the owner to lodge a complaint about the maltreatment he got from the bouncers.
According to our source who was there that Friday night, the patron went to the club, Embassy Lounge on University of Lagos Road to unwind. A little time into the merriment, he went out with a lady and when he was through, he wanted to go into the club but was prevented by the bouncers. After much explanation that they were many that came together, the young man was allowed in.
Eventually when he got in, he decided to lodge a complaint with Basket mouth. However, the mood of Basket mouth that night was not too good that instead of pacifying the young man, he stood up and head butted the guy. Shocked by what he got after the complaint, he had no option than to retaliate. our source further stated that the ace comedian was ‘high’ as at the time of the fight invited the bouncers to teach the man a lesson of his life. This we are told they did by dragging the victim outside beating him to a state of coma.
It would have been a different story if his other friends had not found out what was happening to the guy. He was rescued by the friend who quickly rushed him to a hospital before he was revived.- GLOBAL EXCELLENCE. Bros small small o.only you no go fit catch fun if people no come around you.

I can confirm that this affair resulted in a son that Nkosikazi Nobubele gave birth to in 2011…The revelation of this affair has come as a shock to me and the rest of my family…It has been made more painful because it is my own brother who is at the centre of the crisis.” “Freddy Pilusa of FNP Communications said that he had released it on behalf of Mandela and verified its authenticity”. The story has also been picked up by the international press including the UK Telegraph, Daily Mail and Independent.www.Nigeriancampus.blogspot.com
