FUTURE DIPLOMATS AWARDS NITE
In a video interview with AMC Nigeria, the 19-year-old pop singer cleared the air about his relationship with 22-year-old Wizzy.
‘Wizkid is my friend, Wizkid is my n***a, Wizkid is my brother. There’s nothing wrong at all. We are young n****as making money, that’s all.‘
A few weeks ago, NET reported that there was tension between both camps, citing instances and scenarios that led to the falling out, most notably when Davido and his HKN crew walked out of the NEAs 2012 while Wizkid was performing.

thieves on reaching the flat commenced with the robbery. From what was
revealed during the open investigation and questioning yesterday,The
robbers DID NOT RAPE Wunmi, rather, they were interested more in her
jewelry.
A
next door neighbor, an Alfa(muslim cleric) , whose house the robbers
would have gone to next, said the next thing he heard was "Ole!
ole!!!(which Wunmi shouted)", and then the sound of gunshots, followed
by the groaning of someone in pain. He further stated that he assumed
that it was his neighbours wife who had being shot, until after the
robbers hurridly left( knowing that the gunshot would have been heard
and alerted people around) that he found that it was Wunmi who had
being shot in the mouth. The following day, the poilice came around and
investigations started, and at that point it was said was assumed that
she was killed by robbers.
How The Rumors Started
...The vigilante in Golden estate after the faithful incident *claimed
that they were un aware of any robbery incident that took place. This
made people then question the cause of her death if not robbers,
resulting in the rumors that started flying around and different
theories about how she was killed surfaced, including the voice
message, and BBM broadcasts that were circulated.
The
stories got to the family of Wunmi who had initially rested the case,
but insisted on a proper investigation on hearing that it was being
said that there was no robbery recorded. As a result, the Elewe eran
police station middle of last week invited Wunmi's boyfriend and a some
of his friends for questioning, and they were held, pending the
conclusion of investigation. The vigilante's were also arrested and
kept in custody. On Sunday morning 16th of September, it was said that
the viglante's confessed to having knowledge of the robbery that took
place in the estate that fateful night. When asked why they initially
lied, they said they feared for their lives and jobs,because despite
being armed with guns as well, they didn't challenge the robbers, as
they weren't sure if the robbers out numbered them.
Since
the robbery incident last sunday, it is reported that Golden estate,
has now became the favorite of robbers as it is alledged that about
three robbery incidents has again been recorded in the past week, and
that while some have temporarily moved out, others live in perpetual
fear for their lives.
On
sunday 16th September, 2012, in other to clear all rumours, and finally
lay the matter to rest, the police took Wunmi's boyfriend and his other
friends who were arrested to the crime of the scene in Golden Estate.
The landlords in the estate, the chief judge, IPO, robbery victims in
the estate, witnesses and other unlookers interested in the case were
present at this public investigation. It was, before everyone present
that questions were being asked, and witnesses gave their various
accounts of how they were robbed and what happened the night Wunmi was
killed.
The
family has now dropped the case, and stated categorically that at no
point was Wunmi's spirit invoked. It has also being said that Wunmi's
boyfriend and friends who were invited for questioning and held at the
Olowo eran police station will be officially released tomorrow as they
are said to be innocent and all that was said about them were rumours,
fueled by the vigilante's claim at the inital stage that there was no
robbery.
The Truth
A
source said he was present at the scene of the crime on Sunday where
the public investigation and questioning took place. He took it upon
himself to inform me about the true nature of things because he had
heard all the rumors about Wunmi's boyfriend and being human even
joined in spreading the tales, initially. As a result, he decided that
the least he could do was help spread the true position of things so
people would be aware of what really happened, he added.
It
was said at the public inquiry that Wunmi was not raped or killed by
her boyfriend, neither is he a robber. She was just a victim of
circumstance, sent to an untimely death by the men of the underworld.
LAGOS STATE STUDENT UNION (LASUSU) ‘REAL DEAL AWARD’ 2012
The LASUSU Award have come and gone, the day was meant to be memorable, glamorous and colourful. Guest and Awardees are expected to be good looking colourfully dressed. This was not the case with the LASUSU awards which took place on the 16th of September, 2012.
The event which was held in the main hall of Golden Tulip, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, was well attended by students of the institution, government officials, dignitaries and fun lovers. It all went well except for dress sense of some of the guests and awardees which was far below expectation as some students appeared too casual and unserious for the occasion. worn-out jeans and T-shirts dotted most of the tables in the hall and even the girls wore old looking jeans as if they were attending lecture. The wall behind the stage where presentations of awards were made was completely blank and uncolorful. Not a single decoration was found on the wall.
Members of Nigerian Personality who were at the event can exclusively say it was more of a Church program. The award plaques were lovely and fantastic but the event was not glamorous and ‘uneventful’

BOKO HARAM AGAIN
Eyewitness said that the insurgents killed the man whose name was not known as at press time, his wife, four-year-old child as well as his physically-challenged younger brother.
The tragedy occurred at about 12: 40pm at Hotoro Quarters in the state capital.
It was the exact place where an applicant was killed in his father’s car in front of the residence of a member of the House of Representatives, some days ago.
The four gunmen came on two motorcycles to the home of their victims and went straight to their targets, who were all at home, given that it was a weekend.
The gunmen killed the entire family and escaped ahead of the arrival of the Joint Task Force (JTF), whose soldiers arrived at the scene a few minutes after the victims had been killed.
Spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Magaji Majiya, an Assistant Superintendent, confirmed the attack on the family but declined further details.
The residents said that the police and the soldiers cordoned off the whole area in search of the suspects.
A police source, however, said that as at press time, no arrest had been made while adding that investigation had started.
Meanwhile, a similar tragedy befell a young man from Benue State, who was killed at Dakata Quarters in the state capital, some three days ago.
He was shot and killed inside his business centre by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko haram.
The deceased, whose name was given as Mr. Matthew Akume, was shot at close range while some of his valuables, especially his laptop, were taken away by the suspects.
“Four other persons were in the shop with him when they came. They asked two of them to lie down and the remaining two to go out of the shop, before they killed him,” said a witness.
He recalled that the suspect that pulled the trigger had a ‘small gun’, while the his colleagues, who were shooting outside, had a” big gun”.
The late Akume was a renowned member of St Louis Catholic Church , Bompai, Kano.
POLICE NOT AFTER ME- Davido
On Saturday, September 16, 2012, Crime Digest of Punch Newspapers reported that the Assistant Inspector General of Police had ordered the arrest of the popular pop singer.
Davido however debunks the news in his statement released to NET a day later after the news broke;
‘I want to assure all my beloved
fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in
the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest. I went to the police
some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name‘, Davido said in the statement released through his manager Asa Asika.
The 19-year-old insists that he did not beat up the now-popular Taxi man Femi Ajibola who
claims he was assaulted by Davido and that even Susan (Davido’s
supposed lady-friend who hired the Taxi man’s services) has denied the
news too.
‘I did not beat up any taxi driver
and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved
in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them
mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of
money was missing in his taxi. In fact the lady in question stated that
she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.‘, Davido explains.
He laments that he is being blackmailed but he will not give in to it
‘This is a case of blackmail, and I
have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money. And to all
those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to
remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my
music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring
me down‘.
His manager had this to add: ’These are all false. I’m sure you all know we have been in the states shooting videos for the last two weeks‘, Asa Asika says.

He just didn’t confess, but a source said
Wunmi’s parents didn’t believe his story that she was shot by armed
robbers, so they had to invoke her spirit (a common practice in many
parts of Nigeria, particularly where the circumstances surrounding the
death of a person is suspicious. When this is done, the killer is
tormented by the spirit of the deceased until he or she confesses.)
So he confessed to the police. According
to him, he is an armed robber unknown to wunmi. Wunmi came to his house
that day, barged in and met him and his friends celebrating with guns
on their table. She tried to run back, but they caught her, beat her,
and raped her before they finally shot her. He said he had to do that
so that Wunmi won’t tell anyone what she saw.
What a boyfriend.
