Welcome To Nigeria: The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Africa arrived in Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Saturday 25th August, 2012 amidst celebration. The plane which is owned and operated by Ethiopian Airline and tagged “Africa’s First Dreamliner’’ has a capacity for 270 passengers. The Dreamliner is a long-range, twin-engine jet airliner and is Boeing’s most fuel-efficient aircraft. Boeing 787 Dreamliner consumes 20% less fuel than other similarly-sized ones. It is also the world’s first major plane to use composite materials, lightweight carbon, for most of its construction. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner offers passengers greatly enhanced on-board comfort, with higher level of humidity, the biggest windows in the sky and unique lighting system. Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways are the only two airlines already operating Dreamliner aircraft. Ethiopian Airline is the first airline to take delivery of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Africa. Mr Solomon Bagshaw, the Airline’s Acting General Manager in Nigeria told Channels TV that the aircraft came to Nigeria because it was among the biggest and largest markets where the airline got its passengers and patronage in the past 52 years. Wont you luv to fly in this?
